  • Lions Will Provide Health Screenings at Pig on the Pond Event

Posted on February 21st, 2012 Ocoee Lions Club No comments

Lions, at the upcoming Pig at the Pond event in Clermont, will be performing screening for glaucoma, diabetes, general vision, hearing and blood pressure. There is a $2 admission to the event at the gate, but the screenings will be free to the public. They will be peformed by trained local Lions members in a screening van brought down by the Ocala Lions Club. Since it is not a fundraiser, all costs for the screenings are being borne by Lions. Providing help with vision, hearing and other health issues to those who cannot afford it is one of the most important activities Lions do. The event will take place on March 9th and 10th, and the van will be located at the main entrance to the Pig at the Pond event.
