We serve. We are part of the world’s largest service club organization. We assist the sight and hearing impaired so they can fully participate in our community. We roll up our sleeves, and involve ourselves in our community through fundraisers and events.

  • Preparations Begin for 2016 Ocoee Christmas Parade

    Christmas ParadeThis year’s Ocoee Christmas Holiday Parade, presented by the Ocoee Lions Club in conjunction with the City of Ocoee, will run on Saturday December 3rd, starting at 1:00 in the afternoon.

    The Parade will start at the intersections of Maguire Road and Enterprise Street, and end at Municipal Lakefront Park at Ocoee City Hall.

    Lisa Arnold, Teacher of the Year for Ocoee Elementary School, has been named Grand Marshal of the Parade.

    Check back here or on our facebook page after the Parade for photos and video, when they become available. You’ll find news updates there too. Tag photos you take on Instagram. Use the hashtags #ocoeechristmasparade, #ocoeeflchristmasparade and/or #ocoeelionsclub.

    Rain date will be the next day, starting at 1:00 in the afternoon.

  • Ocoee Lions Club Golf Tournament is May 21st

    The Ocoee Lions Club 12th Annual Golf Tournament at Forest Lake Golf Course is scheduled for Saturday, May 21st. Come and play in the tournament individually or bring a team. We are also accepting hole sponsors and multiple hole sponsors. Entry deadline is May 18th, 2016. Remember, your contributions are tax deductible under 501(c)(3) guidelines. Profits raised will go to eyeglasses and hearing aides for Ocoee residents and to the other local and international charities the Club supports.
    Fees are:
    $80 Entry fee per person
    includes greens fee, cart,and lunch
    $300 Entry fee per foursome
    $150 Hole Sponsor
    Beverages will be available on the course
    Lunch and Prize Giveaway afterwards.

  • Lions Club Will Provide Health Fair

    blog-diabetes-screening-core-4The Ocoee Lions Club Presents its first “Giving Back to the Community” Health Fair. It will take place on Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 10 am to 3 pm. At the Ocoee Lions Clubhouse Location at 108 Taylor Street.

    We will be performing, free to the public:

    Diabetes Screening;
    Retina Screening;
    Hearing Tests;
    and providing Eye Health and Nutrition Information.

    About the Ocoee Lions Club:

    Since the Club’s chartering in 1948, its members have worked on a variety of projects in the local community, such as providing eyeglasses and hearing aids, organizing the Ocoee Christmas Parade and providing food baskets for those in need at Christmas. Proceeds from past fundraising events have gone to the West Orange Girls Club, the Boy Scouts, S.T.A.R.S., Haiti relief, and Leader Dogs for the Blind, to name a few. The Club is currently preparing for its fall fundraising events.

    The Ocoee Lions Club has 33 members and meets on every second Monday at 7 pm at 108 Taylor Street. Lions Clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.

    Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with nearly 1.4 million members and approximatley 46,000 Clubs in 193 countries and geographical areas throughtout the world. Since 1917, Lions clubs have aided the blind and visually impaired and made a strong committment to community service and serving youth throughout the world.

  • Parade Brings Holiday Cheer to Ocoee

    Residents managed to avoid late day rain showers and instead enjoyed warm weather as they watched the 2015 version of the Ocoee Christmas Parade roll by.

    The Ocoee High School Marching Knights, the West Orange High School Warrior Marching Band, the Ocoee Bulldogs, and finally, Santa and his sleigh, all paraded through the City.

    The Parade started at 10 am, at the intersection of Maguire Road and Enterprise Street, and wrapped through the old center of Ocoee, finishing at City Hall.

    The Parade was presented by the Ocoee Lions Club in conjunction with the City of Ocoee. Lions Club members organized the event and handled set-up on Parade day. Former Ocoee Mayor Scott Vandergrift was the Parade Grand Marshal. Teresa Lemons and Sean Gleason served as tv hosts. Parade entrants also provided a large number of toys and donations for the Police Department’s Holiday Toys for Kids in Need program. Thanks to all the entrants and spectators.

    All-In-One-Entertainment was chosen as the best overall entry, according to the Parade judges. Here are their top entries in each category.
